商品簡介
A spin-off from the multi-volume Encyclopedia of the Bible and its Reception, this new series will present monographs and edited volumes exploring the reception of the Bible in a variety of academic and cultural contexts. The first volume is Klancher's revision of her 2012 PhD dissertation at the University of Pittsburgh. She analyzes the construction of a wide range of Christian identities and ideals based on the exegesis of a passage in which Jesus refuses help to a woman's daughter because she is not a Jew. Her perspectives are becoming Christians, textual communities and the call to lived narratives, necessary others, transforming selves, Protestant readers from the Reformation to the early 20th century, and avatars of the Canaanite women.
