商品簡介
The series is projected to encompass many volumes that will disseminate preliminary reports on what has been learned during 20 years of archaeology at the Giza Pyramids in Egypt under the aegis of the Project. The focus is on the excavation of an expansive Pyramid Age settlement that flourished 400 meters south of the Great Sphinx while Fourth-Dynasty Egyptians built the pyramids about 2,500 BC. This first volume looks at the landscape, the history and purpose of the Project, general and specialist reports on the two sites, and early ceramic finds. Two fold-out maps are tucked into an inside pocket. No index is provided. Distributed in North America by The David Brown Book Co. Annotation c2007 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
