The Teti Cemetery at Saqqara ― The Tomb of Remni

The tomb was discovered in 2002 by Australian Egypologists excavating the northwestern corner of the cemetery, and conservation efforts began immediately to protect the painted scenes and inscriptions in the chapel and burial chamber, many of them retaining their original color. Field work has proceeded over several seasons since then, and enough learned to produce a first report. It covers the tomb owner, his family, and dependents; the date and identity of Remni; architectural features; burial apartment; scenes and inscriptions; color conventions; and finds.
