This study addresses the syntactic description and evolution of Spanish argumental prepositional finite clauses introduced by que ('that'). The first chapter of the book introduces the necessary categories and the theoretical syntactic framework for the study. The next two chapters analyze prepositional finite clauses in historical and present-day Spanish, and two subsequent chapters offer a cross-linguistic perspective of Latin, Portuguese, French, and Italian.
