商品簡介
This volume, which will be useful to graduate students and specialists in art history, as well as those involved in painting conservation, contains expanded and revised papers first presented in November 1996 at an eponymous symposium held at the Harvard U. Art Museums (HUAM; which co-published this work). The nine essays consider the state of research in the field, a history of early conservation techniques at the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard, the history and present technology of infrared reflectography, the use of dendrochronology with regard to Netherlandish painting, three case studies, use of digital imagery at the Straus Center for Conservation, and issues of attribution. The contributors are authorities in conservation at museums and universities in the US (several are with HUAM), the Netherlands, and Germany. A glossary is included. The volume is well illustrated with b&w and color plates of excellent quality. Distributed by the David Brown Book Company. Annotation c2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
