商品簡介
Jennings (biblical and constructive theology, Chicago Theological Seminary) explores the relationship between the texts of the apostle Paul, particularly his Epistle to the Romans, and the ways Derrida pursues themes integral to the same concerns. In his thought experiment he starts the process long overdue of relating deconstruction to biblical, particularly Pauline thought. Jennings chooses to examine justice, the relationships among force and violence and the cross, the concept of justice as gift, duty, the obedience of faith, hospitality, ethics, politics and pardon, comparing Paul's texts to those of Derrida and finding significant avenues to pursue in both biblical and Derridian scholarship. Particularly helpful to the scholars to follow is Jennings's well-chosen bibliography. Annotation c2006 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
