商品簡介
This report was developed from the perspective that sexual exploitation and sex trafficking of minors are manifestations of child abuse. The report reveals that the complex needs of young victims are not being adequately met by either the criminal justice system or the child protection system. Part 1 reveals the scope of the problem, outlines victim risk factors, and describes the social, legal, and health consequences for victims. One chapter is devoted to the legal framework that addresses the issue. Part 2 looks at current and emerging strategies, with chapters on the legal system, victim and support services, health care, education, the commercial sector, and interagency collaboration. The last part of the report recommends focusing efforts on identifying youth at risk and developing trauma-informed approaches to help victims, with special emphasis on cooperation among various service providers and agencies. About 40 pages of appendices reveal the methodology and materials of the study conducted. Annotation c2014 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
