《英漢對比語言學史》是“中央高校基本科研業務費用專項基金項目”成果。作者采用歷史分析的方法，將我國英漢對比語言學分為開創階段（20世紀上半葉）、停滯階段（20世紀50和60年代）、復興階段（20世紀70和80年代）和繁榮階段（20世紀90年代至今）四個發展階段，詳細列舉了各個階段中代表學者如馬建忠、呂叔湘、嚴復等人的突出貢獻，勾勒出我國英漢對比語言學的發展歷程和研究成果，并指出發展中存在的問題和不足。
