Graeme Harper is Dean of The Honors College at Oakland University, Michigan, USA, and an honorary Professor in the United Kingdom. A former Commonwealth scholar, he has held professorships and honorary professorships in the UK, USA and Australia. He is Editor of New Writing: the International Journal for the Practice and Theory of Creative Writing, among other editorships. He has won a National Book Council award and awards, grants and fellowships from such organizations as the British Academy, NSW Ministry for the Arts, Arts and Humanities Research Council, Mutter Library, the European Commission and the Institute of Medical Humanities at the University of Texas. Also a fiction writer working under the name of Brooke Biaz, his latest publication is The Invention of Dying (2013).
