商品簡介
Educators, researchers, youth workers, and teaching artists describe projects using writing, photography, video, and theater to reach young people involved in the criminal justice system. The book begins with socio-historical background on the nature of court involvement for youth, then gives background on two participatory research projects conducted with youth ages 11-16 in alternative-to-detention programs in New York City. Weaving together interview transcripts with participants' writing, b&w photos, and stills from videos, the rest of the book offers a vision of hope and possibilities for young people cultivating positive identities.
