商品簡介
This collection of twelve scholarly papers on roadway design and construction examines the nexus of efficiency and safety in urban planning for vehicular, public transport and pedestrian traffic. Drawing from a variety of international contexts and differing regulatory climates, the papers explore topics including details of dimensioning in street design and its effect on general safety, methodologies for safety effectiveness testing, design considerations for school zones, the effects of lighting and other secondary factors on roadway safety, and emerging technologies for traffic and roadway system safety monitoring. Each paper includes an abstract, illustrations, tables, and references. Contributors to this volume are academics in urban planning and design from institutions around the world. This collection is the second volume in an ongoing series on urban transportation planning that also includes the 2013 publication Intersection Control and Safety.
