“I have been practicing yoga for a few years now and trained as a teacher twelve years ago. In a way I still feel like a beginner as it's only recently that I can really see past the place where the physical practice has taken me, to a place of acceptance, of myself and others, and of a feeling that things will be ok. Yoga is such an amazing gift to the physical self but it is when the physical body is brought into a certain state of being that the real yoga starts and the essence of yoga begins to unfold. Just practice your yoga breathing and postures, and everything else will happen when you are ready.”

Sally Parkes, BSc, has teaching since 1998 and has a wealth of experience in both yoga and Pilates and has studied in India, Thailand and the UK. Sally divides her time between London and the Worthing area in West Sussex and enjoys teaching people from all walks of life regardless of age, ability or experience. Sally teaches Dynamic Yoga and gentle and restorative Hatha Yoga. Sally also has a keen interest in womens’ health and has studied extensively with a leader in this field, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli. Having studied Pre and Post-Natal Yoga as well as Womb Yoga (a yoga training course that address all cycles of a woman’s life including the Menopause) she believes that all women have the right to empowerment through knowledge of their own physical and holistic bodies.

Sally is also the founder of Laxmi Yoga 200 hour Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training, the only teacher training in the UK to also offer a full First Aid certificate plus ongoing support and possible work placements following students training. She also presents upbeat and fun master classes and workshops at various health and well-being conferences including The Yoga Show and The Vitality Show. Sally writes monthly articles for Ultra Fit Magazine and is an ambassador for Urban Lucy. She also writes regular articles for a number of other health and fitness magazines as well as being Technical Expert for www.yoga-abode.com.
