Perry R. Hinton is a psychologist, and has worked for over twenty five years in four British universities, from lecturer to Head of Department. He has taught in the areas of cognitive and social psychology, and research methods and statistics, primarily to psychology and communication and media students; but also to a wide range of students including nursing, social work, linguistics, philosophy and education. He has written four textbooks and edited the Psychology Focus series for Routledge.
