商品簡介
Camara offers a detailed examination of the political evolution of Guinea from World War II to the present. Using primary source information, he evaluates the impact and influence Guinea has had on Francophone Africa in particular and the remainder of the continent as well. The book is divided into three parts: the multi-stratum context of decolonization, Guinea under S<’e>kou Tour<’e>’s regime, and Guinea under the regime of Lansana Cont<’e>. Specific topics include: national sovereignty, statecraft, and the rise of single-party rule; doctrinal paradigms and domestic policy, foreign policy, economic and social policies. As a native of Guinea, Camara offers a specifically detailed assessment of domestic politics and policy creation during five regimes that ruled the country since 1958. The book would be useful for courses in political science, history, decolonization studies, Third World studies, African studies, and nationalism studies.
