This extensive reference work--built with content from the publisher's four-volume Profiles of America--contains profiles for 2,078 populated places in Texas, arranged by county and then by populated places within each county (including cities, towns, and unincorporated areas). Statistics, rankings and key indicators on the county level include location and weather, population, religion, economy, income, education, housing, health, and recent presidential election results; similar entries on the local level also include notes on health insurance, transportation and historical notes. An "About Texas" front section to the book includes color photos and maps and information about state history, demographics, government, and land and natural resources.
