商品簡介
Barbero (West Virginia U.) describes the analysis of the composite material itself at the microscopic level and of structures made of composites. The textbook evolved from notes for an advanced graduate course on the mechanics of composite materials, but the title reflects the need for finite element methods to solve the complex boundary value problems encountered. He found that textbooks on neither composites nor finite element method covered as much of the overlap as he wanted. Among his topics are the mechanics of orthotropic materials, the elasticity and strength of laminates, computational micromechanics, continuum damages mechanics, and delaminations. Students are assumed to be familiar with basic mechanics of composites as taught in introductory courses. Annotation c2013 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
