Marcel Proust (1871–1922) was a novelist and critic, a forerunner of Modernism, and one of the 20th century's most important literary figures. Andrew Brown is the author of Roland Barthes: The Figures of Writing and the translator of several works into English, including Emile Zola's For a Night of Love and Andre Gide's Theseus. A. N. Wilson is the author of many novels and nonfiction works, including Paul: The Mind of the Apostle and The Victorians.
