Robert Cockcroft was formerly Lecturer in Rhetoric, Department of English Studies, University of Nottingham, UK. His previous publications include Rhetorical Affect in Early Modern Writing (2003), also published by Palgrave Macmillan.
Susan Cockcroft was a tutor at the University of Nottingham, UK, and Principal Examiner in A-level English Language and Literature. She has written several books on language and is currently working on grammar and gender in historical texts.
Craig Hamilton is Associate Professor of English at the University of Haute Alsace, France. Some of his recent articles have appeared in The Cambridge Handbook of Stylistics, Cognitive Grammar in Literature, Language and Literature, Style, and The Journal of Literary Semantics.
