商品簡介
The Institute organized a three-month program in 2005 in response to the outbreak of the SARS disease two years before. These tutorial essays have been developed from notes of lectures by three researchers, and focus on epidemiology rather than some other topics addressed by the lecture series. Herbert Hethcote (U. of Iowa) looks at the basic epidemiology models, epidemiology models with variable population size, and age-structured epidemiology models and expressions for R0. Ping Yan (Center for Infectious Disease Prevention and Control, Public Health Agency of Canada) discusses clinical and public health applications of mathematical models; and John Glasser (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, US) considers non-identifiables and invariant quantities in infectious disease models.
