商品簡介
Jenkins (Director of Education for the Diocese of Carlisle) offers this study on the morphology of Catholic settlements in Ireland and how they were influenced by both the Jerusalem Temple and pagan Irish settlements predating Christianity on the island. The early Christian enclosures of the Mediterranean and the Near East and their evolution are explored via archaeological and literary evidence. The author investigates the theological purposes for these specific topographical designs through the scripture based canon of panning. The circle based enclosures of the pagans are compared to this canon and the point where the two meet, namely the Irish Catholic settlements seen today in Ireland. This study of religious topographical paradigms will be of interest to those in religious studies and archaeology. Distributed in North America by The David Brown Book Co.
