商品簡介
Integrating modern work in structural stability theory with mathematical notions of stability of motion, this work focuses on the Koiter postbuckling analyses. In relation to discrete and continuous systems, it bases minimum energy principles for static stability on the dynamic concepts of stability of motion, and develops asymptotic buckling and postbuckling analyses from potential energy considerations, with applications to columns, plates, and arches. Material can be covered in a one-semester introductory course. Dym is affiliated with Harvey Mudd College. This is an unabridged republication of a book published by Noordhoff International Publishing Leyden, The Netherlands, in 1974. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
