商品簡介
The authors explore the stories, myths, ideologies and rhetoric surrounding concrete processes of globalization and seek to explain the parochial interests that give rise to them and the extent to which they impact globalization rather than simply describe it. Approaching the topic from a sociological perspective, they argue that the conceptualization of state and society in globalization has imagined a world in which the various systems of authority and sovereignty are no longer seen to occupy the same spaces nor share the same boundaries. They argue that this establishment of the narrative of globalization requires a simultaneous process of rewriting past and future, "which seeks to establish and maintain plausible stories about the present."
