商品簡介
Quackenbush presents students, academics, researchers, and policymakers with a logic-based, evidentiary exploration of international conflict that illustrates both the causes and ways to avoid conflict. The author has organized the main body of his text into four parts. The first part examines the foundations of conflict study, with chapters focused on the scientific study of war, identifying wars and militarized disputes, and rational choice theory. The second part is focused on the causes of war and militarized disputes, with chapters devoted to contiguity and territory, power, alliances, and other related subjects. The third part focuses on the conduct and aftermath of war, and the final part provides the author’s conclusions. Stephen L. Quackenbush is a faculty member of the University of Missouri.
