Haas Professor in the Humanities at Stanford University, is a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and a member of the Herbert and Jane Dwight Working Group on Islamism and the International Order. His most recent book is Freedom or Terror: Europe Faces Jihad (Hoover Institution Press, 2010).
