Not surprisingly, Kodak and Xerox are among the companies highly represented in this reference for scientists, engineers, and executives in the imaging industry and researchers in academia. To the 1991 edition have been added new chapters on color photographic materials; electrophotography, photothermographic and thermographic imaging materials; and papers and films for ink jet printing. Though diazotype materials are riding into the technological sunset, they are still widely enough used that the chapter on diazo papers, films, and chemicals has been retained. Not so cylithography, which, despite some major developments in the technology in the past decade, has not had a significant impact on the imaging materials marketplace; its chapter has been erased.
