Community Research In Environmental Health ― Studies In Science, Advocacy And Ethics

Researchers with non-government organizations, government agencies, and academic institutions share the insights they have gained by conducting studies in collaboration with communities relating to a wide range of environmental issues, many generated by the environmental justice movement. The compilation of case studies examine the nature and form that the community collaboration took, the scientific design and findings from the work, and the ethical issues that had to be dealt with. About half have been published in peer-reviewed journals. They cover housing, open space, urban development and transportation, and environmental exposure.
