High Frequency Communication and Sensing ─ Traveling-Wave Techniques

"This book introduces multiple patent-pending high-frequency traveling-wave signal generation and utilization circuit techniques. Ahmet Tekin has received his EE PhD degree from University of California Santa Cruz, CA, EE MS degree from North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, NC and EE BS degree from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey in 2008, 2004, and 2002, respectively. During his M.S. at NCA&T State University, he worked on a NASA transceiver project designing very low power radiation-hard SOI CMOS circuits. During his Ph.D., he designed a very low noise analog radio baseband with noise shaping circuit techniques. He worked for many innovative companies; Multigig, Inc., as a technical staff, Newport Media, as a senior analog design Engineer, Aydeekay LLC as senior mixed-signal design engineer, Broadcom corp. as a senior staff scientist, Semtech Corp. as a principle design engineer, Nuvoton Technology Corp. as analog design manager. He was co-founder and chairman of Waveworks Inc., focusing on novel traveling wave based high frequency communication circuits and biochips.

Ahmed Emira received the BSc and MSc degrees in electronics and communications from Cairo University, Giza, Egypt, in 1997 and 1999, respectively. In December 2003, he received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at Texas A&M University, College Station, TX.

From 2001 to 2002, he was with Motorola, Austin, TX where he worked as an RFIC Design Engineer. Following his PhD, he worked as an RFIC Design Engineer in the wireless division of Silicon Laboratories, Austin, TX, from 2003 to 2006. Then he worked as a Senior RFIC Design Engineer and a leader for the power management team in Newport Media Inc., Lake Forest, CA from 2006 to 2008. He joined Cairo University as an Assistant Professor in the electronics and communications department in 2008. Dr. Emira is currently the manager of RFIC group in Newport Media Inc., Egypt Design Center and is also an associate professor at Cairo University. He has more than 40 journal and conference publications, five US patents and several pending. His current interests include low power mixed-signal circuits for portable devices/energy harvesting systems, mm-wave and RF circuits, MEMS interface electronics, and wireless communication systems architectures.
