Introduction to Electrochemical Science and Engineering

This textbook introduces readers to the operational principles of a number of the growing electrochemical engineering-related technologies. It also provides the reader with a basic understanding of the fundamental concepts of electrochemical engineering, such as electrochemical cells, electrolytic conductivity, electrode potential, current-potential relation, and more in a variety of electrochemical cells. The method applied in the textbook is based on a solving-problem approach and provides the reader with a significant amount of problems covering all topics and using reliable reference data from the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics.

Serguei N. Lvov is a professor of energy and mineral engineering, a professor of materials science and engineering, and a director of the Electrochemical Technologies Program at the EMS Energy Institute of The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, USA. His areas of research include electrochemistry, thermodynamics, material sciences, and environmental sciences. He is the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, 2 books, 6 book chapters, and 2 US patents.
