商品簡介
Kucelman (West-Germanic linguistics, Pedagogical U. of Cracow, Poland) analyzes the Early Modern English use of -self pronouns in all contexts of their use and in both reflexive and emphatic functions at that time. Examining the factors that were responsible for applying a -self pronoun in a particular context, she finds a complex and intricate interplay between syntactic, pragmatic, and discursive conditions on the use of pronouns during that period. She does not provide an index. Annotation c2013 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
