Yule updates and translates findings he published in German during the 1980s reporting his findings from archaeological excavations in Oman. New to this account is his discussion of the languages in the region prior to the coming of Islam. Findings for the Early Iron Age come from al-Moyassar and Izki, and for the Late Iron Age from al-Fuwaidah and Samad al-Shan.
