In The Imagined and Real Jerusalem in Art and Architecture specialists in various fields of art history, from Early Christian times to the present, discuss in depth a series of Western artworks, artefacts, and buildings, which question the visualization of Jerusalem.

Jeroen Goudeau, Ph.D. (2005), Utrecht University, is Assistant Professor of art and architectural history at Radboud University Nijmegen. He has published mainly on Early Modern architectural theory, including a monograph on the seventeenth-century scholar Nicolaus Goldmann (Groningen 2005).Mariette Verhoeven, Ph.D. (2010), Radboud University Nijmegen, is postdoctoral researcher at that university. She has published a monograph The Early Christian Monuments of Ravenna. Transformations and Memory (2011). Her field of research is the cultural history of Early Christian and Byzantine architecture.Wouter Weijers, Ph.D (2012), Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, is Assistant Professor of modern and contemporary art at Radboud University Nijmegen.
