Performance and the Global City

Following the ground-breaking Performance and the City, this volume, now available in paperback, explores what it means to create and experience urban performance – as both an aesthetic and a political practice – in the burgeoning world cities built by globalization and neoliberal capital. D.J. Hopkins is a Professor at San Diego State University, USA. His previous publications include City / Stage / Globe: Performance and Space in Shakespeare's London and the co-edited collection Performance and the City (Palgrave 2009; 2011). He is editor of the journal Theatre Topics.

Kim Solga is Associate Professor in the Department of English and Writing Studies at Western University, Canada. Her previous publications include Violence Against Women in Early Modern Performance (Palgrave, 2009), and the co-edited collection Performance and the City (Palgrave, 2009; 2011). With Susan Bennett, she is general editor of Theory for Theatre Studies.
