商品簡介
Tygielski explores the role that Italian immigrants played in the Early Modern Polish-Lithuanian state and society, and compares it to Italian emigration to other countries, especially France. He considers the consequences of the long-lasting presence of the Italian representations on their Polish-Lithuanian hosts, the broadly perceived influence of the Italian immigrants on the form of the Commonwealth, and the participation of Italians in creating the Polish image in Western Europe. His topics are evidence of Italian presence in narrative sources, the coming from the Italian perspective, the stay of Italians in the Commonwealth, interaction: a friendly confrontation, the reaction to Italian emigrants, and consequences and contexts: a lost chance for modernization.
