Rebel Friendships looks at effective social movements and how these intersect with friendships. The intersections between individual and community, the ways we experiment with friends, explore, create, and reduce the harms of modern living and alienation all make up effective social movements. Yet, it is rarely simple. Shepard explores friendships and how they infuse social movements with the social capital necessary to move bodies of ideas forward. Such innovation is rarely seen in more institutionalized social arrangements.
