Neurally Based Measurement and Evaluation of Environmental Noise

This book deals with methods of measurement and evaluation of environmental noise based on an auditory neural and brain oriented model. Several examples of measuring environmental noise arising from outdoor noise, such as aircraft, traffic, and train; indoor noise, such as floor impact, refrigerators, and toilets, are demonstrated. Based on these noise measurements and evaluations, methods of noise prevention in a room and a car as well as outdoors are discussed in this book. Also, for soundscape design, a basic database of natural sounds is collected. This book provides an excellent resource for students, researchers, and practitioners in a wide range of fields, such as automotive, railway and electronics industries, soundscape, architecture, and acoustics.
