The Battle of Midway ― Searching for the Truth

This book examines the recorded history of the 1942 Battle of Midway from the perspective of a WW II Navy dive bomber pilot. Details of the Battle were withheld from the public during the war and post war years for valid wartime reasons. Deception and misdirection were acceptable under the circumstances. However, the author maintains that the deception and misdirection were perpetuated by responsible branches of our Navy far too long. Long after it mattered.Unfortunately the withholding of details about our Navy’s conduct of the Battle created a vacuum of information that 21st century American writers and authors have filled with creative scenarios of their own, publishing fiction as fact, including a conspiracy that maligns leaders of our aircraft carrier forces.In essence the author presents a history of the history of the Battle of Midway. The author questions the validity of current American books about Midway and advises scholars of future generations to be more inquisitive, discerning and objective.
