商品簡介
This is an edited collection of 13 papers giving a political economy perspective on European integration. Organized to reflect the history of the European Union, the book is divided into four parts. Part 1, "Debates and Perspectives in the Formative Period," goes over the original economic problems discerned in the run-up to creating the EU. Part 2, "Deepening and Widening? Analyzing and Understanding the Re-launch of European Integration," investigates the acceleration of the integration process beginning with the Luxembourg Package of 1985 and discusses the Single European Market, the Economic and Monetary Union and other integration efforts. Part 3, "European Economic Governance," looks at the comprehensive character of European governance, social benchmarking and transnational capital. Part 4, "The Crisis of the Euro and Prospects of European Integration," views more recent dynamics, including the crisis of the euro and perceived erosion of democracy.
