Nyengele (pastoral care and counseling, Methodist Theological School in Ohio), "using critically the relationally transformative concepts and methods of family systems theory," examines gender relations in Africa from the perspective of African theology. He particularly engages the writings and ideas of African women theologians, calling for gender-sensitive caregiving by pastors and pastoral counselors.
