Building Proofs ─ A Practical Guide

Oliveira and Stewart guide students of mathematics and computer science in the art of proofs and proof making. They use examples from many different parts of mathematics--number theory, calculus and analysis, geometry, algebra, and algorithms. Most of the material assumes that students have taken standard courses on calculus and linear algebra then gone on to courses called variously analysis or abstract algebra.
