A Short Guide to a Practical Montessori Homeschool for Children Ages 2-6

“Free the child's potential, and you will transform him into the world.” -Maria Montessori This beginner's guide to the Montessori Method of homeschooling for children ages 2-6 is written by parents who have embraced this method of educating their own children. It was written in hopes of simplifying the process for other parents and caregivers who are considering doing the same. The Montessori Method of education can best be described as an "Aid to Life" rather than a specific method of passing on academic objectives. This guide will help you learn how to bring the environment that your child lives and learns in down to eye-level with him or her. It will teach you how something as simple as getting rid of clutter can enhance the child's learning experience. It will help you to learn tips on integrating everyday activities and tools already in your home into your child's play time so that even during play they're learning real skills that they'll be using for a lifetime. This guide will also be helpful for setting up your child's learning space, creating a daily routine and creating activities that will promote learning and keep your child interested and excited about it. Overall, by learning and implementing the Montessori Method in your home, you are creating a world where everyone is involved and children are thriving. "We cannot create observers by saying 'observe', but by giving them the power and the means for this observation and these means are procured through education of the senses." -Maria Montessori
