From Here to Hogwarts ─ Essays on Harry Potter Fandom and Fiction

In this book Christopher E. Bell has collected a series of contemporary essays from a variety of international scholars in various disciplines, focused on the varieties of significance of the Harry Potter series of books. The editor has organized the ten selections that make up the main body of the text in two parts. The first part is devoted to the ways in which the books mirror reality and includes selections focused on authoritarian school disciplinary trends; wealth, labor, and inequality; and other related subjects. The second part is devoted to the ways in which our world is mirrored in the reality of the books and includes selections devoted to propaganda in the world of the books, the visual culture of Harry Potter, and other topics.
