Author Mads Gilbert presents students, academics, and general interest readers with his personal photo account of what happened in Gaza in the summer of 2014. The author has organized the main body of his text in a great many chronological chapters devoted to events and their impacts, such as the Israeli aerial assault launched on July Seventh, 2014 and the ground phase of the operation ten days later. The author arrived in Gaza on July 13th, as part of the international humanitarian effort. He worked for two weeks at Al-Shifa Hospital and documented what he witnessed with a small camera.
