Charles Dickens (1812–1870) was a prolific English writer of fiction and nonfiction, including fifteen novels. He enjoyed international success in his lifetime and is considered one of the greatest novelists of all time.
Grace Moore is a Senior Research Fellow at the Australian Research Council's Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions at the University of Melbourne. She is the author ofDickens and Empire, which was shortlisted for the New South Wales Premier's Award for literary scholarship, andThe Victorian Novel in Context.
