Kirner-Ludwig identifies selected lexemes relating to religion occurring in Anglo-Latin, Old English, and Middle English text samples ranging from about 600 to about 1500-50, applies characteristics to them using the Oxford English Dictionary and the Middle English Dictionary, establishes as best she can when they were borrowed from Latin or French and incorporated into English vocabulary, and tracks the development of their usage and semantic contents.
