While they do kill hundreds of attractive foes, Yulric’s allies quickly change sides when shown the many advantages of the more civilized vampire lifestyle. In the end, Yulric retreats to the home of his human “friends” where he and the eight-year-old begin their new mission: to hunt vampires. Because in a world where vampires are heroes, it is the only way for Yulric to be a monster again.
