商品簡介
This guide draws on research from Project VIEWS2 (Valuable Initiatives in Early Learning that Work Successfully), a study to assess the impact of early literacy storytimes in public libraries. The guide outlines practices to improve storytimes with early literacy behaviors that impact children's literacy outcomes. It details the main principles of “supercharged” storytimes and the VIEWS2 Planning Tool; how the tool supports the practices of Every Child Ready to Read at a library in the areas of talking, reading, singing, playing, and writing; and findings from the last year of the study, focusing on types of storytime assessment (self-reflection, peer mentoring, and outcome-based assessment), their benefits and challenges, and recommendations based on findings. Sidebars contain advice from library staff. Annotation ©2016 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
