商品簡介
Only one copy is known of the mid-15th-century Middle English translation of Giovanni Boccaccio's Latin prose work on famous women, and the last edition of it was published in 1924, says Cowen, without the benefit of many modern references on Middle English. One of two English translations of De Mulieribus Claris before modern times, it consists of 1792 lines of English verse in seven-line stanzas of the "rhyme royal" type. This edition is for students of Middle English, and includes commentary and an extensive glossary. Annotation ©2016 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
