Fundamentals of Parallel Multicore Architecture

This three-part textbook covers the architecture of multicore processors. Designed for a graduate-level course, the first part focuses on core concepts in parallel architecture. The second part is intended for advanced graduate students and professionals who work on multicore architecture design or evaluation. It covers multicore-specific technology, including existing architectures and promising technology for future architectures. The final part of the book presents interviews with experts from various fields related to multicore architecture and system design.

Yan Solihin is a professor of electrical and computer engineering at North Carolina State University, where he founded and leads the Architecture Research for Performance, Reliability, and Security (ARPERS) group. Dr. Solihin has been a recipient of the IBM Faculty Partnership Award, NSF Faculty Early Career Award, and AT&T Leadership Award. He is listed in the HPCA Hall of Fame and is a senior member of the IEEE. His research interests include computer architecture, computer system modeling methods, and image processing.
