Jean-Marc’s prime role is to support HBase users over their HBase cluster deployments, upgrades, configuration and optimization, as well as to support them regarding HBase related application development. He is also a very active HBase community member, testing every release from performance and stability standpoints.
Prior to Cloudera, Jean-Marc worked as a Project Manager and as a Solution Architect for CGI and insurances companies. He has almost 20 years of Java development experience. In addition to regularly attending HBaseCon, he has spoken at various Hadoop User Group meetings and many conferences in North America, usually focusing on HBase related presentations and demonstration.
Kevin O’Dell has been an HBase contributor since 2012 where he has been active in the community. Kevin has spoken at numerous Hadoop User Groups, Hadoop Summit, and HBaseCons. Kevin currently works as a Systems Engineer for Cloudera building Big Data applications with a specialization in HBase. In this role Kevin works to architect, size, and deploy Big Data applications across a wide-variety of verticals in the industry. Prior to his Systems Engineer role, Kevin was on the Clouderasupport team where he was the team lead for HBase and supported several large HBase deployments.
Prior to Cloudera Kevin worked at EMC/Data Domain and was the Global Support Lead for Hardware/RAID/SCSI where he ran a global team and supported many of the Fortune 500 customers. Kevin also worked at Netapp where he specialized in performance support on NetApp SAN and NAS deployments leveraging the WAFL file system.
