Calixto Salomao Filho presents readers with a comprehensive examination of development, economic structures, social problems, monopolies, globalization, and poverty. The author examines these structures from both an economic and a legal perspective, providing readers with a study of historical exploitation and restriction and it's contemporary impacts on markets globally. He has organized the seven chapters of his text in three parts devoted to economic power in the history of ideas, monopolies and the history of capitalism, and his conclusions.
